Tooth decay

Sugar causes tooth decay. The sugar feeds the bacteria

Certain types of bacteria stick to the surface of the tooth and form plaque that needs to be cleaned at regular intervals, at least twice a day.

If you are constantly eating and there is a sufficient supply of sugar, the scone is formed faster

If dental hygiene is inadequate and the tartar accumulates, it blocks the access of the saliva to the tooth surface and tooth decay can occur.

During tooth decay, bacteria convert food sugars into acids that dissolve the enamel surface and minerals are lost.

Tooth decay can be stopped if it is still limited to enamel, with improved dental hygiene, supplemental fluoride and better eating habits

The enamel dissolves slowly, but once it gets through, dissolution is faster.

A dentist then has to clean away the damaged tooth tissue
